The cleaning lady went out of her way to be helpful even when it involved issues unrelated to her job.
Perfect location, you could go to the top places of Paris on foot, nearby metro station. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room always clean andwarm in spite of the unexpected bad weather on May. This hotel offers almost all the services an average visitor in Paris needs.
The room was very small, though there are no means to change that. Otherwise, this disadvantage is compensated by the good service and the very central location of the hotel. Anyway, you don't go to Paris just to spend your day in a hotel room.
Great location, decent breakfast but not obligatory since there are plently of beautiful brasseries and boulangeries around with delicious things for breakfast,
certain rooms are too small (back side view), wihtout any renovation and old furniture, poor decration though the others (with view on rue rivoli) are big enough, confortable with new large beds, fully renovated and nice decoration. Paradoxical both type of rooms are on the same price, which is unacceptable....so wish to be lucky enough to get a front room. More often my reseravation was for 5 days by the end of easter week, different rates for holiday nights (logical) but when I decided to stay a couple of nights more, and though it was daily not holiday, not weekend, not full season period they didn't charge me the rate through booking for night but they charge more as it was displayed on the price list on the hotel, not in booking...
The staff (all shifts) were all very helpful. The location is excellent, very convenient to Notre-Dame, the Chatelet, etc, etc., and close to Metro stops. Breakfast is nothing fancy but pleasant and relaxing.
The Rivoli is a quite nice little hotel. The rooms and beds are comfortable, and very clean. The location is just about perfect––just a short walk to Ile Saint Louis, Notre Dame, the Georges Pompidou and the Left Bank––and the neighborhood surrounding the hotel––La Marais––is full of shopping––including Les Halles, an insane underground shopping center––great restaurants and historical sites. We were in a great 6th (there’s an elevator) floor room with big windows opening out to the rooftops. Unless you want, or can afford grand lobbies, pools and bellmen this is a great place. Were there only one night but would stay longer next time.
The staff were extremely friendly which made up for the small and tired decor of the rooms. It was a shame they did not have drink making facilities in the room as the breakfast was not included. Again something which would have made the all round experience even better. Would recommend to others though as the location was ideal for accessing the whole of Paris..
Good location. Very good reception staff.
Non-functional bar/cafe gives poor impression
Nice big room with balcony, great location near metro
Room at front was bit noisy
Location was good. All facilities in room worked
Shower glass cover is inadequate as the room gets sprayed with water. Room cleaners knock when do not disturb sign is showing
Staff were English speakers, friendly and willing to help. I had a good and comfortable stay thanks to them. The location is also nice. Within 5 min walk from Metro St. Paul.
I heard noise something like collecting bins/cans all the time even at night. Though I could manage to sleep but if you're really picky about the noise you will be uncomfortable. And the shower plug was missing....why?
The location. Room is not big but it is not tiny either. Lobby and elivator are small but this was ok since it was not too expensive considering this area.
Location was perfect. Walking distance to Louvre, Pompidou Centre, Notre Dame and left bank. Also situated in the Marais which is a lovely area too. Romm very quiet at the back of the building.
The location was excellent. The staff were really friendly. The room was clean and it was good value for money.
Most things were ok, but the decoration of the room and bathroom could do with a bit more lively colours. However, the bath definitely needs a shower curtain. It was really hard work to have a shower and not creating a pool.
This is very nice hotel . . . the rooms are basic, but efficiently designed and very clean. The bathroom is quite large by Paris standards. Given what hotel rooms cost in Paris, I think this is a relative bargain when compared to comparable properties. The front desk personnel is very friendly and accomodating - and English speaking. Each person went out of their way to be helpful and cheerful, which can't be easy when dealing with tourists! The location of this hotel is superior, given it's proximity to Notre Dame, the Marais, Il de cite and Hotel de Ville. There are plenty of cafes and good shopping. It appeared, at first glance, that the on-site breakfast @ 8 Euros was a bit skimpy, but after paying much more for a basic cup of coffee and pastry at nearby restuarants, the Hotel Paris Rivoli breakfast was a welcome bargain. I highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms are a bit small, but this is to be expected in Europe, especially in Paris.
Very convenient location in the trendy Marais area. Bus and metro very close by.
Initially it seemed old fashioned and poky, but in fact it was OK. All we wanted was somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep, and it did exactly that.
